Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying psychiatric and substance use disorders.

Studies in the Seney Lab encompass parallel investigations in human postmortem subjects and in rodent models, using behavioral, molecular, and anatomical methods combined with large-scale transcriptomics, bioinformatics, and statistical testing and modeling, together forming a translational research program aimed at investigating the biological bases of brain disorders. Applications of this knowledge may be critical to developing novel treatments, which we argue might be influenced by sex of the individual and/or time of day. Learn more »
